Now Offering Iron Infusion Therapy in Metro Detroit

purelyIV now offers mobile iron infusion consults for adults in Metro Detroit who have recent labs showing low iron, iron deficiency, or iron-deficiency anemia and need help understanding whether IV iron belongs in the plan.

This service is consult-first. A CBC, iron panel, health history, and nurse practitioner review are required before treatment can be approved or scheduled.

If you are ready for the current service details, start with our iron infusion therapy overview. This post explains what changed, who may be a fit, and what to expect before an at-home visit.

What is iron infusion therapy?

Iron infusion therapy delivers iron through an intravenous line. It is commonly considered when recent bloodwork supports iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia and oral iron has not been tolerated, has not worked well enough, or is unlikely to replenish iron stores efficiently.

At purelyIV, our iron infusion pathway uses iron sucrose when treatment is approved. Care is delivered by licensed registered nurses with nurse practitioner oversight in the comfort of your home, office, or hotel when that setting is appropriate.

Why iron is so important

Iron plays a key role in hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of red blood cells. When iron is low, the body may have a harder time moving oxygen efficiently, which can contribute to symptoms such as:

  • Persistent fatigue or weakness
  • Pale skin
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath
  • Poor concentration or brain fog

Iron deficiency can be related to blood loss, menstrual changes, poor absorption, pregnancy, surgery, or chronic health conditions. Pregnancy and other complex medical situations require appropriate clinician review, and eligibility for mobile care is never assumed from symptoms alone.

When IV iron may be considered

IV iron may be discussed when the lab picture, symptoms, and medical history support that direction. Common reasons people ask about it include:

  • Bloodwork that confirms iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia
  • Oral iron supplements that have been ineffective or poorly tolerated
  • Gastrointestinal conditions that may interfere with iron absorption
  • A need to replenish iron stores more efficiently under clinician guidance
  • Ongoing blood loss, such as heavy periods or surgery recovery

A CBC and iron panel are required before purelyIV can move forward. The consult helps determine whether IV iron, additional lab review, or another next step makes the most sense.

Introducing iron infusion from purelyIV

We now offer mobile iron infusion therapy across Metro Detroit for clients who complete the required review and are approved for treatment.

Every approved treatment pathway includes:

  • A consult and chart review before treatment approval
  • Review of recent CBC and iron panel results
  • Administration of iron sucrose by an experienced registered nurse
  • Lab coordination support if recent results are missing
  • At-home, office, or hotel care when the location is appropriate for treatment

This service is available only when labs and health history support the plan. We follow screening and monitoring protocols before care begins and do not treat iron infusion as a direct-book hydration visit.

Book your consultation today

If recent labs show low iron or iron-deficiency anemia and oral supplements have not been enough, a mobile iron infusion consult can help clarify whether at-home treatment is a reasonable next step.

purelyIV provides in-home IV care throughout Metro Detroit, including Royal Oak, Birmingham, Rochester Hills, Sterling Heights, Novi, St. Clair Shores, and nearby communities.
